Areca Capital Sdn Bhd (ArecaCap), an associate company of Jerneh Asia Berhad, today launched its first wholesale fund, the Areca Steady fixedINCOME Fund.

Its CEO, Danny Wong, said the fund aims to provide capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of Fixed Income Investment which focuses mainly on those of quality debentures, with intention to hold until maturity.

“The Fund seeks to provide sophisticated investors with a stable stream of consistent income while maintaining capital stability by investing in Fixed Income Investment over medium to long term investment horizon,” he said in a statement. In view of the recent volatile trend in the global markets, the fund is set to capture the absolute returns on both the upside and the downside of the underlying indices, said Danny.

The fund is offered to individual investors with total net personal assets exceeding RM3 million or its equivalent in foreign currencies or a corporation with total net assets exceeding RM10 million or its equivalent in foreign currencies. The initial unit price is RM1 per unit and the Initial Offering Period is for 21 days from May 11, 2009. The initial minimum investment amount is RM100,000.00
